Coach Abrey

Coach Abrey played four years of Varsity Softball at South Hills High School in West Covina before starting her college softball career at Azusa Paciic University. Abrey also played four years of travel ball with Californa Thunder Gold 18u. A four year starter in the outfield, Abrey helped here team win the 2016 Pac West Championship. Coach Abrey is now an assistant coach at APU and is pursuing a Masters in Sociology before she starts her career in law enforcement. When we asked Coach Abrey what keeps bringing her back to the softball field she said “I am forever grateful for all the valuable lessons and opportunities that softball has given me. I have coached almost every age group and have loved everyone. I am just grateful to play a small part in these girls lives and I can’t wait to see where they all end up”.

Coach Kat

Coach Kat Cortez played travel softball for California Lite under Coach Pam Newton and Victor Stewart. She earned a scholarship to play softball at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. Where she was the starting catcher. After graduating in the Fall of 2014 with a degree in Psychology, Kat stayed to coach the 2015 season at NSU. She then return back home to her hometown in Pomona. She coached HS JV basketball and varsity softball at Garey High School. Coach Kat is the current catching coach for Clutch Up Softball Academy and Assistant softball Coach for Chaffey College.

Coach Marcus Rojas

President Marcus Rojas has over 18 years’ experience in travel ball softball and has coached over 30 teams of girls. Marcus has led teams to two National Championships, ten Top Ten finishes in ten years, and has had the privilege of helping many players earn scholarships to play for Pac-12, Big Ten, and SEC universities, as well as several Division II and Division III institutions.  Marcus is passionate about the game and the team learning environment it creates for the youth. Dedicated to the growth of the organization, the college placement of the athletes, and the passion for the game, Marcus is one of the most sought out after organizational coaches.
